| When you break it down, delivery for feed is not actually that expensive. Fuel isn't cheap these days and we are all noticing the difference at the pumps; when you work out how much it costs to drive to your nearest country store and back to collect your feed there isn't really any difference. We send bags of feed out individually or send them out on a pallet depending on the amount you buy. Our website always works out the price to send your feed individually and the price to send your feed on a pallet and offers you the cheapest. Sending feed individually, our competitors charge up to £7.00 per bag. We charge £4.95 per bag. If you think that at an average of £1.33 per litre for Unleaded fuel, you could buy 3.72 litres of fuel for £4.95. The average combined MPG of UK cars is 37.837 (http://www.fuel-economy.co.uk/stats.shtml) which means that the average car will do 30.9 miles on £4.95 of fuel, so if your nearest country store is more than 15 miles away, it is more cost effective to buy a bag of feed online. Not only that, but the opening hours of your nearest country store may also be your weekday working hours which would mean that you only get chance to buy your feed at the weekends. Why not spend more time with your horse at the weekends rather than running around buying feed! |

| Our lowest pallet charge is £43.20, so once you have ordered 9 or more bags of feed, your feed will be delivered on a pallet as it works out cheaper. You can order up to 50 bags on one pallet and the price will still be £43.20, making it as cheap as 86.4p per bag if you ordered a full pallet. If you are unable to buy in bulk yourself, you may want to ask your friends if they would also like to buy any feed, if a few of your grouped together you would soon be able to qualify for a pallet rate. You are able to mix feed too, so if you wanted to buy 5 bags of one feed, and 10 bags of another, they would all go on the same pallet.
If you buy, for example, three bags of feed with £4.95 delivery per bag, this would show as £4.95 and a Delivery Surcharge of £9.90. If you order other items with your feed you will be charged £4.95 for delivery of the other items, and then £4.95 per bag of feed which will show as a Delivery Surcharge, unless you have qualified for a pallet rate and then the other items you have ordered will also be sent on the pallet at no extra charge. Some bags of feed are bigger than others, for example, Dengie Hi-Fi is twice as deep as a bag of Dodson & Horrell High Fibre Cubes so the Hi-Fi would count as two bags.
