Most horses and ponies are affected by flies at some point during the year, more so during turnout in the warmer spring and summer months. Some horses can be quite sensitive to flies and fly bites in particular, so taking steps to prevent them from being bitten by using fly rugs, masks and lotions and sprays are important for the comfort and welfare of your horse.

Fly rugs have either a detachable or integrated neck cover; tail flap and sometimes a belly cover to keep the flies away from as much of your horse as possible. They are made from durable yet remarkably soft mesh or cotton material; allowing airflow which helps to keep your horse cool on the warmer summer days.
